Celiac Disease Investigation with Marsh Classification in Paediatric Population

Objective: To determine the celiac disease using Marsh classification in paediatric population at Pak Emirates Military Hospital.
 Study Design: Cross-sectional study.
 Place and Duration of Study: Department Paediatrics, Hospital Rawalpindi Pakistan, from Aug 2020 till Mar 2021.
 Methodology: Patients either gender aged 1 to 14 years with three or more clinical features such as chronic diarrhoea, any degree malnutrition, short stature, abdominal distension, anaemia, clubbing time admission, were included this Results: There 97 patients study. Among them, 61 (62.9%) males, 36 (37.1%) females. 56 (57.7%) who histology positive 41 (42.3%) negative. 37 (38.1%) III a, 15 (15.5%) b, 4 (4.1%) c category. Gender distribution showed that 33 (58.9%) males compared 23 (41.1%) Even though frequency was higher among difference not statistically significant (p-value=0.23).
 Conclusion: Celiac is a possible reason for anaemia iron deficiency unknown origin. Therefore, histopathological diagnosis should be completed when suspected.
